Bishop J. Lee Slater is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Tulane University, New Orleans, La. with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Bishop Slater relocated to Dallas Texas after he received a try-out with the Dallas Cowboys. While remaining in Dallas he married his Texas love Donna. They have been married for 32 years and are proud parents of daughter Valerie, Twin sons Joshua Lee and Travis Lee (Travis Deceased March 8, 2005), and son Matthew Lee. They are also the proud grandparents of Nathaniel Travis Lee, Karter and Aura.  Bishop Slater and, Pastor Donna are founders of New Millennium Bible Fellowship Praise Center (NMBF PC) in the Pleasant Grove, Southeast community.  Bishop and Pastor Donna organized with 11 partners (5 adults & 6 children) in 2001.  Since then the vibrant church has grown.
 
 
The vision of NMBF PC is, “Helping the Hopeless, Providing Healing, Peace and True Praise!” NMBF PC is intensely involved in community outreach ministry as it is a calling and passion of Bishop Slater for God’s people.
 
 
Bishop Slater is a dynamic Preacher and Teacher.  He attends Dallas Baptist University completing his Master’s Degree in Discipleship and has also received various certifications such as Church Leadership and Old and New Testament History while attending Southern Bible Institute, Tyndale Theological Seminary and J. Lee Foster School of Biblical Studies.  Thereupon Institute of Louisiana is where he received board certification in individual, family, marriage and grief counseling.
 
 
Bishop Slater and Pastor Donna has written and presented leadership trainings which has been an inspiration to churches across Texas.  Also, as one of four Board Advisors for the BMW- Better Me Within program by way of the University of North Texas Health and Science Center, a program geared toward the fight of obesity in African American Women, Bishop Slater has co-authored a curriculum which encouraged recognition and the opportunity to present on the panel during the TPHA (Texas Public Health Association) Conference.  Bishop Slater shares co-author credit in print for submitted articles in the Elsevier and as of August 20, 2020 the  American Journal of Health Promotion.

Bishop Slater and Pastor Donna has nine spiritual pastoring sons and daughters in the areas of Dallas, Balch Springs, Garland, Forney, Seagoville and Bastrop, Texas; Riviera Beach, Florida and Johannesburg South Africa.  They also have a host of individuals they mentor consecutively.
